Please tell me satellite dishes work in snow
So we get snow tonight and the dish doesn't work?? U gotta be kidding me!

1. I would have to go out and sweep the snow off the dish
periodically. It was mounted on the side of the house, rather than the roof, fortunately. No, they don't work when covered with snow.

2. spray no stick Pam on it periodically
it helps the snow slide off by itself frequently, if there is a big storm, yes it could interupt the signal

I had the Dish for a while as they had fantastic prices for HBO, Showtime etc. I couldn't stand the reception when it rained and when we had high winds. I gave it up after six months or so. I'm down in the Ann Arbor area and I refused to wait until the snow hit...I got rid of it in the Fall.

I hate to say it but Comcast is far superior to its satellite competitors.

5. We've had to knock it off but it's far better than cable. We have both

and the channel selection with Directv is better for the same price. We have maybe 3ish days of rain fade a year. :hi:

***The reason we have both is because we need the cable for my job (internet connection).
