Skyline is a stupid name for a high school
The Ann Arbor school board voted to name the new high school (scheduled to open in fall of 2008) Skyline. The other option was Northcrest. Both are awful, in my opinion; Northcrest sounds like a cemetery and Skyline is just vague and stupid. What will the nickname be; the skyscrapers? And neither name has anything to do with Ann Arbor. People are very unhappy with this choice.

3. I wasn't in favor of Schembechler either
Or Lousma or Salk. But Skyline....it's just so nothing. It's not as though Ann Arbor is noted for its fabulous skyline. And now they're talking about the nickname being Lightning. Blech. Ann Arbor Skyline sounds like an airport shuttle service.

I think Ann Arbor North would've been just fine. Or Allen and Rumsey. Or anything more relevant to the city.

Ann Arbor Skyline Fighting Commuters!

5. "Ann Arbor Skyline Fighting Commuters!"
good one!

i think Allen and/or Rumsey would have been all right, or find a way to name it after both the Anns, using their maiden names or something. for me, Ann Arbor North is a little too blah.

There is one good skyline view: driving in on M14, at the Barton Rd. Huron River Bridge. Coming down the hill and around the curve is a nice view at night.

4. Allen and Rumsey would have been awesome!
What exactly does "Skyline" refer to?

I really like when building names refer to early or prominent citizens, particularly when they are local figures (there are probably thousands of schools named Kennedy, Roosevelt, King, etc.)
