1. I'm sure they'll give a 'fair and balanced' outlook.....
and bats might fly out of ... oh, never mind.
these meetings would be good to give the DU treatment...

2. I'm not so sure we need too (though it wouldn't hurt).
From what I have read, these meetings aren't going over quite the way Dubya would like. For example, they had one of these in Kalispell, MT and the audience was described as "agitated and sometimes angry." From what I heard, the little old ladies really ripped into Senator Burns. They were pretty pissed that the Repugs are trying to destroy the system that has been built up during their lifetime to protect people from having to live in poverty in their old age. They wanted to make sure the system stays in place for their children and grandchildren and they really let him know what they thought of SS "reform." These ladies probably remember what it was like before Social Security or they have heard the horror stories from their parents. I guess it was rather amusing to see all the little old ladies ripping into the Senator as I'm sure he thought SS reform would be a pushover in a red state like MT. Looks like the grannies proved him wrong. I expect the meetings in Winona and St. Cloud to go over about as well, though it wouldn't hurt to have a few DU'ers attend if they live close by. Oh, and if you can bring Granny along, it might not hurt. ;)
