3. They are sort of forced to use Realplayer...
Because the CEO of Real Media is on their AAR Board Of Directors...

And Realplayer does that sometimes...

I proposed an MP3 solution to them long ago, to be run by White Rose, but they were not interested.

9. No, the transmission is cutting out at the source
Nothing to do with Real Player, Media Player . . . I was driving to lunch in my car and it was doing that during the Redford interview over my car radio.

4. My satellite stream is screwed too
Audio keeps going in and out. I've heard it before.. Lots of Rex Phipps and other annoying PSA's to fill the gaps. :(

6. Umpteen problems with

Windows Media Player. In some cases it sounds like the chipmunks!! Must be a case of speed of output difference between broadcast and transmitter.

Real Player is sometimes problematic, but the biggest problem is that it cuts out after 2 hours. I listen remotely, especially to Randi Rhodes and Mike Malloy and as both programmes are longer than 2 hours and hence I have to return to base to ensure that I get a continuous feed. Since Randi is on from 10 pm to 2 am, I have to get out of bed and go all the way down to my cellar to reactivate the broadcast.

There is another problem in that the usual broadcast problem with Mike Malloy which starts at about half an hour before the end, when the broadcast stream completely vanishes. I have to return to Radio Pawer to get a slightly delayed feed.

I wish somebody in AAR listens to benburch as his is the most stable feed so far.

8. Maybe this will help
I think you can get around the two-hour time limit by
using one of these url's to play:
http://play.rbn.com/?url=airam/airam/live/live.rm
rtsp://go.rbn.com/airam/airam/live/live.rm

You can use a winamp plugin called "tara" to play realaudio streams,
it will automatically reconnect if disconnected.
You can google for "winamp tara" to find it,
the version I'm using is 1.03b, it's old and no longer supported.
Set these options for tara:
off Display Error MessageBox
on Automatically connect if disconnected
off Process audio through Winamp

Then you can use Windows Task Scheduler to have winamp
start the radio power stream at a specific time every day.
