Bud Philbrook

Never even heard of this guy until Demrock6 posted the MPR link (thanks!) and I saw him on the list of candidates for governor.

Needless to say, I'm impressed. A Democrat who seems to have the domestic sensibilities of Paul Wellstone and the international vision of Jimmy Carter. I'm still leaning Hatch for now, but does anyone else have opinions on Bud?

1. Cool....

I never heard of him either. I like his E3 strategy. Makes sense, matters to all, simple to understand message.

I wish he has an email list sign up.

Still not sure if I am a Hatch guy. Hasn't Hatch lost before? This Bud does not have a record to attack, but is strong in many issues.

2. Hatch lost in the DFL primaries in '94.

The only DFLer to win statewide office in 2002, I think Hatch is a really strong candidate for governor. People know that he's a pitbull.

3. I like Bud!

From what I know of him he seems like a compelling candidate.
I certainly prefer him to Hatch, and I'd probably prefer him to Kelley. As I've mentioned before, I'm waiting on possible Lourey candidacy. Biggest problem with Philbrook candidacy is he stands little chance I think of securing DFL endorsement.
