Al Franken moving back to Minnesota!

So he bought a house in Minneapolis, and is coming back. I heard this on The Nick Coleman show today with host Mike Erlandson (sp?)
I also heard voice overs from Al saying he did pick up a house here.

So do you think he will actually challenge Norm Coleman in 2008 for his senate seat? He has been talking about doing it, and this makes it look possible.

He was a close friend of late senator Paul Wellstone. Perhaps he wants to get the seat Paul held, and fell into Coleman's lap.

5. Al has mentioned the new house on his show, that his wife has been here

getting the place set up. He does a Sleep Number Bed ad in which he mentions having a new house and getting a new bed to try out.

Al Franken's campaign will most likely be a thing of beauty - he is so focused on video/audio, and has such a creative mind. We will be treated to the cleverest of political ads and his habit of staffing with researchers will enhance the quality of the political sparring.

Coleman will not know what hit him - he and busco probably think Franken is an easy target.

Yes, I believe Franken will indeed run for Senate in 2008.
I expect there may be others DFLers in the race, however.

7. He is running

This is confirmation of it. He has talked about it for a couple years now, and taking this big of a step towards it seems to set it in stone that he is running. It is too early for him to step out and say that officially for at least another 18 monthes to two years, but it seems quite obvious that he is planning on it.

Coleman has to be scared to death, Franken is not afraid to call out a liar and he is able to do it in a way that makes people laugh. I don't agree with Franken on everything, there are some issues he is too conservative on for my tastes. But despite that, I would just love to see him debate Coleman, just the thought of that debate makes me think he would be a good candidate.

8. Eddie Haskel versus Stuart Smalley

I'm not so sure that Coleman is that scared.

I'm also concerned that Air America has something with that sort of national weight to replace him if he chooses for abandon his burgeoning national radio show to go local.
