Norm finds time for Mrs. Felon Minnesota
Of all the issues a United States senator should be concerned with these days, Norm Coleman chooses to champion the cause of a whiny beauty pageant queen who got caught stealing a couple hundred thousand from Social Security:

"The ex-Mrs. Minnesota, in federal prison in Illinois for illegally collecting about $194,000 in Social Security disability payments, is waging a fervent campaign to be transferred to a state prison in Shakopee. She wants to be near her 10-year-old daughter, Amanda, who has cerebral palsy.

"Henderson, 45, and her supporters are circulating petitions calling for her transfer, which more than 500 people have signed. They have created a website promoting her cause with the battle cry "Free Dee." And they gained an ally in Sen. Norm Coleman, R-Minn., who is urging prison officials to grant her request to serve the rest of her sentence in Minnesota."

Oh, but it's all about the children:

"She said her appeal, which is scheduled to be decided by Friday, is "not about me getting preferential treatment. It's about a little girl who has some very special considerations. ... It's about a little girl that needs her mom.""

1. these people are really stupid.
they should have kept thier mouths shut. ya don`t start websites and have senators go public about this. the only way to help her was to do it without anyone knowing it. dealing with a state prison officials is bad enough but the feds...good luck. we have dealt with a state prison system and by keeping our mouths shut we got what we wanted.
