Today's protest over the Mississippi River

The Lake Street Bridge (dubbed The Peace Bridge) is great on a warm day. Nice breeze from the river, lots of after work traffic. Many peace signs and waves and many people just laid on their horns all the way across the bridge!

About four of us had signs specific to Cindy Sheehan's stand-off at Cookoobanana's ranch. Plans were made to have more solidarity protests for Cindy both Thursday and Friday. I'll post the details when I get them.

Hey Bush! Meet with Cindy! (Mine said, Dubya-Meet With Cindy!) This woman spotted my sign and made her way across the bridge.

The rest of them were great, though.

This was my first time on the Bridge, and it was fun, with lots of positive responses, including honks, peace signs, and flashing headlights.

Afterwards, I went for dinner with some of the other protestors, and I asked them whether the response had always been this positive. They said no, that in the beginning, they got a lot of middle fingers and catcalls.

Today, I saw only one middle finger out of the whole rush hour crowd, as opposed to maybe 50% positive indications.

3. Well, I'd say there were about 25 or 30 people on the bridge,

more on the south side than the north side.

Some people honked their horns all the way across the bridge!

There was a visitor from a peace group in Germany who was running around taking pictures. I think his camera must have had a 60-second video function, because he interviewed me about why I was there, peering through the camera the whole time.

4. This group of steady regular activists...

...makes me proud of the Twin Cities.
They are there EVERY week.
