Why are You a Democrat?

This one ruled

Senate Candidate Booths

A "prize" the Repubs were taking entries for at the Repub booth. "America's Real Action Heroes"?! "Top Gun"?! Good god, what an abomination. I'm glad I waited to eat my cheese on a stick until later in the day.

After that horror I needed to calm myself down by seeing the bunnies

3. That bunny reminds me of a "journalist" on CNN
Are you sure that rabbit's not little Billy Hemmer, formerly of CNN?

4. Ford Bell out in front of his booth?
If nothing else, he's a solid guy.

This will be my first MNSF, so I'm looking forward to it :)

6. I was there the other day, and the DFL was selling Hillary buttons.
Edited on Sun Aug-28-05 12:01 PM by ocelot
I voiced some displeasure -- why should Hillary be carpetbagging in Minnesota? We have our own senate race to win, and I really object to her using our DFL to further her campaign. It's almost certainly for more visibility for the presidential nomination in '08, anyhow -- which is een more objectionalbe. Hillary, get your DLC-lovin' self out of Wellstone territory. Feh.

7. I noticed that too and found it a bit odd. I may check and see if
the DFL had them made up or if someone provided them to the DFL.

The Doran and Klobachur buttons looked like official campaign buttons the campaigns were giving out free at their booths. I was thinking that those campaigns gave buttons to the DFL to sell to 1) help the DFL and 2) get visibility for the campaign.

9. I asked where they came from.
The person selling buttons said they'd been provided to the DFL by Hillary's people. She said they just put out whatever is given to them. I'm pretty annoyed that Hillary's campaign is flogging her campaign material all over the country like that -- if the people of New York like her and want to re-elect her, fine; but IMO campaigning nationally for a senate race is a pretty transparent attempt to get set up for '08. I didn't see campaign material from any other out of state candidate...

10. Thanks for checking this out, very good information
I thought it was odd that the DFL would put out material favoring one possible 08 candidate over another. And I tossed her request for campign funds that came in the mail recently. Anything contributed now is likely to end up transfered into her presidential campaign fund.

8. Hm, that Bush doll looks like it was made in China.
You know, communist China. You know, "Red" China. You know, where they force women to have abortions. Odd to sell stuff like that in a Republican booth and all.

11. Fair was pretty fun on Sunday
it was packed all around. The DFL booth was very, very busy by the afternoon. I did see Kelly Doran at his booth late afternoon.

Other good places to go besides the DFL booth are the Green Party and Human Rights Commission booths on the second floor of the Grandstand. I also noticed very little traffic at the Taxpayers' League and Constitution Party booths in the Grandstand compared to the Green and HRC booths.

I have four new buttons to wear. A Klobochar one, Wetterling one, Green Party one, and Human Rights one.

While checking out the WCCO-AM booth, I noticed very little traffic through the GOP booth at different times of the day. There were also only a couple College Republicans hanging around the Mark Kennedy booth near the haunted house.

Around the fair I saw only one or two GOP Balloons, but many, many Klobochar buttons and T-Shirts at many different spots. They seemed to be as popular as the St Thomas bags from the education building.
