Janet Robert continues to censor AAR
According to www.DumpBachmann.com, Janet Robert must clear any on-air discussion of gays and abortion. 6th District congressional candidate Scott Mortensen was at the DumpBachmann meetup last night and had this to say, according to DB:

"Scotty told me about an interview he had with Air America's Alan Miller. Scotty wanted to talk about how Tinklenberg and he differed on the issue of criminalizing abortion and marginalizing gays for political gain (Tinklenberg supports both of those things, and Mortensen opposes them). Alan Miller also told Scotty that he could not ask the questions about the FMA or abortion without getting prior approval from Janet Robert. Hmmm - I thought Janet claimed she wasn't censoring these topics."

Robert should just leave her checkbook at the station and stay the hell away from running the place.

I truly appreciate having AAR here in Minneapolis but this woman is ridiciulous.

You can get her contact info from their website (I made it although I'm glad I parted ways with them)

Does it bother anybody else that Wendy Wilde does ALL the commercials, bumbers, liners, etc for the station? WTF? It sounds SO unprofessional. It doesn't help that I can't stand her. Pull somebody off the street and have them read copy!

6. I want to set myself on fire whenever I hear their commercials
Amateur hour.

I don't know which is worse--those annoying commercials by that woman (I'm not sure it's Wendy Wilde--there's another woman named Diana Nelson whom I had the displeasure of hearing this morning on AARMN instead of Morning Sedition) or those painfully earnest commercials for their weekend shows. It sure is an irony free zone on the weekends.

3. Nominated because censorship of AAR is going to kill it
Janet Robert is the President of the Board of Directors of Democrats for Life, an organization that favors criminalization of abortion as part of a strategy for curtailing abortions.

When someone for whom discrimination against the privacy rights of women funds a radio station that is supposed to be the opposition, the opposition becomes a banzai version of the truth.

8. Oh really? Not a dime will they ever get from me!
They can keep their t-shirts, bumperstickers, and memberships if it's all going to support this dino.

9. Keep in mind that this is the "local' AAR we're talking about here
National AAR is a very good idea, because Democrats have to be as good or better at creating the echo chamber of liberal ideas as Republicans have been.

It's just that a flawed rich person took the helm in Minnesota, which really sort of sucks.

4. Are you sure this is Roberts policy?
Come to think of it I don't really recall Al Franken or and of the others really touching on these topics. Also AARM was running "support gay marriage" adds a few months back. Are we jumping the gun on her? What if it is the big Air America Radio in New York that set the policy?

Don't get me wrong it is very important for Scott Mortensen to show people the difference between himself and Tinklenberg. One progressive and one dino.
