Arguably, having someone in charge of the voting in the state may be as important as having another US Rep.
Mark Ritchie should replace Mary Kiffmeyer.
http://www.markritchie06.net/index.htmlFrom his website:
"I am running for Secretary of State in Minnesota because our democracy needs champions.
"Over the past two years I had the opportunity to lead the NOVEMBER 2 Campaign, one of the largest non-partisan voter mobilizations in our nation's history. This experience made me passionate about fostering fair and honest elections and restoring the public’s trust in our entire election system.
"As part of this campaign we worked with some of the most creative and dedicated election officials in the country to overcome a number of the problems that voters face, including here in Minnesota. At the same time, it was an opportunity to see some of the unfair and unethical practices of highly partisan officials who created barriers to discourage participation.
" Too many people are still being denied the right to vote and even more are worried that their ballots are not being properly counted. The well-being of our democracy depends on having people with integrity in the Secretary of State's office."
I have heard him speak, and have been very impressed.
