Saturday, March 18, 1:00 p.m. Library Plaza and Mall Area, Hennepin and Lagoon Avenues, Minneapolis. Not one more death! Not one more dollar! Act now for peace! On the 3rd anniversary of the U.S. Invasion of Iraq, join people the world over in a weekend of global anti-war protests. Thousands of protests, vigils. Forums and other events will be held in cities across the U.S. and around the world that weekend to call for an end to the war. United for Peace and Justice, A.N.S.W.E.R. (Act Now to Stop War and End Racism) Coalition and the Troops Out Now Coalition have initiated calls for action that weekend. Bring your friends, family, co-workers and others to have the largest possible _expression of opposition to continuing U.S. involvement. In Minneapolis, gather at Library Plaza and be part of a massive anti-war presence! At 1:30 p.m. march down Hennepin Ave. to the Basilica of St. Mary for closing event with speakers, including SAMI RASOULI, an Iraqi American, who has spent the last ten out of twelve months working in Iraq with Muslim and Christian Peacemaker Teams. Saturday, March 18, 5:45 p.m. Corner of Snelling and Summit Avenues, St. Paul. Walk for Peace in remembrance of the beginning of the war in Iraq. The walk will head west to the Mississippi River where there will be a sunset candlelight vigil.
