Pawlenty going to Iraq
BY PATRICK SWEENEY Pioneer Press
Gov. Tim Pawlenty is part of a delegation of U.S. officials traveling to the Middle East, his staff announced today.

The trip, which will include a stop in Iraq, is being led by Sen. John McCain of Arizona. The group of nine elected officials includes Republican and Democratic members of Congress, Gov. Jon M. Huntsman Jr. of Utah and another governor.

A news release issued by Pawlenty's staff included few details of the trip. Andrea Jones, a spokeswoman for McCain, declined to comment on the group's schedule or itinerary because of security precautions.

More than 2,500 Minnesota National Guard troops are headed toward Iraq and the Middle East to bolster the U.S. war effort there.

2. The longer he stays there...
...the less time he has to fuck up Minnesota.

Is he auditioning for McCain's running mate position? They'd make a good pair--a couple of phonies.

3. My thoughts exactly
about the screwing up Minnesota.

Well both Pawlenty and McCain have qualified for boot licking Bush lackey status (McCain for hugging * after * trashed him in 2000, and Pawlenty for dropping out of the US Senate race when KKKarl Rove told him that * wanted Coleman).

4. McCain never fails to disappoint
I used to believe all that hogwash about him being a straight-shooter and all that other hogwash back in '99 / 2000. Since then, he's had numerous opportunities to show that he's the republican with something resembling genuine character and he's shown himself to be a spineless B*sh syncophant every time. Pawlenty, on the other hand, I never had any respect or hope for in the first place. Well, I'm going to do better for them than they would do for me and wish them a safe return.

5. Is Iraq one of those fringe area rural cities in MN we've never heard of?

Why waste taxpayer time and resources for this empty nonsense?

Like republicans often say: Our troops' sole purpose is to fight and win wars.

VP Cheney had a quote from 1992 that is almost verbatim to that. So there is no need for this emotional stimulation on our politicians' part. Not when our politicians have said cold statements or dance to the same beat as those who do.
