More wasted tax dollars on court hearings for arrestees of the RNC
* the state, city, and county are desperately short of money, yet they can still waste our tax dollars on these trials. It makes me sick that these people have to show up to these hearings and even more we are paying for it. *** the fines do not cover the actual court costs.. and two, the arrest were bogus so most will not be found guilty.

We need lots of people to turn out Friday at 9:00 a.m. for Joe's sentencing on a felony charge.

This is our most important hearing to-date. We really need to turn out in large numbers in a show of community support for Joe.
It has been my honor and privilege to have gotten to know Joe over the past couple of months, and I want to send one very clear message to Judge Rosas - DON'T SEND OUR FRIEND TO JAIL!!!

Come out with lots of friends at 9:00 Friday morning to the Ramsey County Courthouse.3.

We have 1 felony, 7 gross misdemeanor and 5 misdemeanor cases scheduled for trial call 9:00 Monday morning at the Ramsey County Courthouse. The felony case is in front of Judge Nathanson - we don't know the room number yet. The rest of the cases are in front of Judge Guthmann in room 1240. When these people report for trial call, they will be given an idea of what order the cases will be called in and will have two be ready on two-hours notice to stand trial for the remainder of the week. That means we need to be ready to attend their trials in large numbers. Please be ready to give as much time as possible (I'm thinking we might need to be camped out in Judge Guthmann's courtroom Tuesday through Friday). Please let us know about your availability and how we might be able to get in touch with you on short notice.4. We still need to cover the other regularly scheduled hearings the week of December 15.

1. I was contacted by the Mn ACLU today
Dear Friends,

It has been over four months since the residents of Minnesota witnessed and participated in a historic event, the Republican National Convention in Saint Paul. The massive arrests and show of police force painted an unfortunate picture of our state. We want to ensure that this does not happen again.

During the course of RNC, August 31-September 4, the police recorded and collected over 6,000 hours of video in downtown Saint Paul. The American Civil Liberties Union of Minnesota filed a data practice request on August 22 and November 13 and according to Minnesota statute, the public has the right to access the state and local government records. However, the tapes have yet to be released.

ACLU of MN has offered to provide special storage devices in order to obtain the copy of “raw video” and the vendor’s viewing software. They have responded saying that they might not release the tapes for another 2-3 years. We, at the ACLU of MN, believe that the immediate release of these videos is crucial and constitutional.

We urge you to contact Mayor Chris Coleman to advocate for the release of these 6,000 hours of videos immediately.
