letter to the Editor from Susu.
"Early next year we should start seeing trials for those violent protesters who were arrested at the Republican National Convention," Channel 4 news anchor Jeanette Trumpeter said on air last Thursday. On Friday the WCCO web rebroadcast of the 5 PM news edited-out the word "violent." About 3-seconds into the 2-minute, 31-second story Trumpeter's head jerks with the missing word.
Trumpeter's intro was followed by clips of protesters on the street milling about. A police car with broken windows was shown. The only active violence was a law enforcement concussion grenade exploding. Who wrote Trumpeter's script? Where at Channel 4 does contempt for the First Amendment originate? Whatever happened to "innocent until proven guilty?" What about the point of view of demonstrators? Talking heads telling us what to think is media bias. Media bias perverts public opinion and betrays the public trust.
