Keith Ellison is endorsing Matt Entenza for Governor.
Just got an e-mail from his office. :puke: That's disappointing. I am entirely underwhelmed with Entenza.

2. Quite possible.
Wasn't Entenza running the DFL when Ellison first won his seat?

5. I think you may be confusing Entenza with Mike Ehrlandson (sp)
who had been DFL state chair as well as Martin Sabo's chief of staff. He thought he was going to be annointed Sabo's successor and both he and Sabo were very poor sports about Ellison getting the endorsement.

Entenza was running for AG the first year Ellison ran for Congress. Maybe it's because Entenza was one of the few who did not challenge Ellison in the primary

I really found this endorsement odd and would guess there is some quid pro quo going on, I'm just not sure what it is.

7. You are correct - the E's mixed me up. :-)
And who knows - maybe he & Ellison worked together in the MN legislature closely and Keith is grateful for that.

9. Erlandson is worse, but I don't trust Entenza much, either.
Supposedly he hired some firm to do oppo research on Mike Hatch (not that you'd need to hire someone to do that), which is kinda sleazy -- and I'm not too comfortable with his wife working for United Health.

A lot of Minnesota DFLers are kind of assholes, it seems.

She's now at Piper Jaffrey - where health care is apparently considered an "alternative investment"

Health Care, Alternative Energy/Clean Technology Expertise
Lois Quam to lead Piper Jaffray equity investment initiatives

Piper Jaffray enhanced its leadership in health care and the emerging alternative energy/clean technology sector with the addition of Lois Quam, who joins the firm as Managing Director, Alternative Investments.

In this newly created leadership position, Quam will be responsible for managing Piper Jaffray equity investment offerings in health care and alternative energy/clean technology. These new offerings will extend the private capital funds Piper Jaffray currently manages.

Quam joins Piper Jaffray from UnitedHealth Group, where she helped build the company into one of the fastest growing health-care organizations in United States, and led the formation and growth of United’s public and seniors businesses, which now earn over $30 billion in annual revenue.

“Piper Jaffray has established a leadership position in health care and the emerging alternative energy/clean technology sector—an area of strong opportunity for the company,” said Andrew Duff, chairman and CEO of Piper Jaffray. “Adding Lois’ business experience and expertise to our team extends our capabilities in these two important, high-growth sectors, and establishes a focused leadership position that will be instrumental as we continue to build proprietary investment capabilities.”

:puke:

When she (or he) starts working for a group advocating single payer, then I might trust her (or him).

3. What a fucking idiot
The DFL might as well hand over the keys to the gtovernor's mansion to the GOP if they hand the nomination to that jerk. Haven't we got enough liars in public office?

On another note, it sucks to see our DU posts now run the risk of carrying ads for handgun nuts.
