Police seek public’s help
May 11, 2009 (MINNEAPOLIS) The Minneapolis Police Department is asking for the public’s help in recreating the events leading to the death of a woman in the Uptown area on Friday May 8th. That morning officers in the Fifth Precinct responded to a report of a woman’s body on the northeast corner of Lagoon Avenue and Knox Avenue South just before 6 a.m. When officers arrived they found the woman deceased.
Investigators have learned that the woman lived in the area and they believe that she attempted to commit suicide sometime during the early morning hours.
The Minneapolis Police Department is asking that anyone who lives in or was passing through the area and has information regarding this case contact Sgt. Christopher Gaiters at 612-673-2315.
The Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office will be responsible for identifying the woman and determining the cause of death.

Minneapolis police are seeking the public's help regarding the death of a woman they believe was an attempted suicide in Uptown last week.
The Hennepin County medical examiner's office has identified the woman as Katherine Simmons Flom, 52, of Minneapolis. Her body was found on the northeast corner of Lagoon Avenue and Knox Avenue S. about 6 a.m. Friday.
Police believe she jumped from an apartment window, but her body was found a short distance away, said Minneapolis police spokesman Sgt. Bill Palmer.
"We don't know the exact sequence of events," he said. "Her injuries are consistent with being struck by a vehicle." The medical examiner's office has not determined a cause of death.
Anyone who lives in the area or was passing through is asked to call Sgt. Christopher Gaiters at 612-673-2315.
