Wednesday, July 8, community discussion on health care reform
I just found this in my email

Join us in Bloomington this Wednesday night, July 8th, for a community discussion about the health care reform solutions being decided RIGHT NOW in D.C. for our state and our country. This legislation will determine the quality, cost, and equity of the health care you receive for years to come:

When: Wed. July 8, 2009

Time: 6:00 – 8:30 PM (registration and refreshments from 6-6:30pm)

Where: Normandale Community College
Kopp Student Center, Garden Lounge (KSC 1410)
9700 France Ave. S., Bloomington, MN 55431

Who: South-metro area residents, State Sen. John Doll and State Sen. Jim Carlson (and more), as well as many of our candidates for Minnesota Governor – including Susan Gaertner, Steve Kelley, and John Marty.

No matter what happens at the federal level, Minnesota's leaders, including our next Governor and state legislators, will also have to decide what kind of health care system we have here at home. Please join us as we:
- Talk about our core values around health and health care;
- Discuss how these values are currently being represented in Minnesota and D.C.;
- Question our elected officials about what they support and why;
- Write letters to U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar, as well as letters-to-the-editor, communicating what YOUR family needs from health care reform this year

Be there to send a strong message to all of our elected officials: "Having the health care we need, when we need it is essential. Health care reform efforts must include alternatives to private, for-profit insurance if we are to increase access and provide guaranteed affordable health care for everyone."

Here is a link to a map of Normandale so you can find the Kopp Center.
