What is farv and why is it hurting Mankato economy?
I think that it has to do with sports.

1. I thought Brett ran out of beans to eat and fart and finally bowed out for good...
The Vikes are much better without that pompous twit.

2. Oh, so he is a football player
and why is he hurting the Mankato economy?

No economy should be dependent on the whims and vagaries of the world of sports. This is crazy. We will see how much it end up costing us to have all those fancy stadiums near the 394 and on campus.

3. Because the media won't be pouring into town to cover
Farve {sic}. That will hurt the bars and restaurant businesses in Mankato. Everyone knows that sports writers drink to excess and eat everything in sight, as long as they can expense it.

There will be extensive layoffs in the hospitality business in Mankato due to Farve's {sic} non-appearance, of course. President Obama is slated to declare Mankato a national disaster area, and FEMA teams are already riding their bicycles to the town.

5. I don't know, but the Strib seems to think he's even more important
than Micheal Jackson. :-)

8. Now that's a dilemma..
an overpaid freak drug addict or an overpaid football player.

I just came back from a long thread on GD about food servers whose take home is $2.12, before tips...

And that's the real world.
