Tornado touchdown nr downtown Minneapolis 2:11pm
Be careful out there. The storm is moving slowly east and north and the clouds are so low they cannot spot the funnels before they form and touch down.

1. That was really strange. It's pitch black outside right now.
I hope everyone is safe.

3. It think this is going to miss Saint Paul, but I've battened down
the hatches. I have friends in the area in Mpls where it hit, so I'm worried about them.

Wish us all luck here.

6. Our warning is over, and the sky is lightening up to the South,
so I guess we're out of the woods for now. Northeast corner of Saint Paul.

5. I guess it touched down on 35W and 31st (by Kmart) street and then
down by the Electric Fetus. Stay safe everyone.

14. I hope they'll be able to reopen soon. They're an institution.
I know they had quite a bit of roof damage, too.

So far, no serious injuries. This could have been a much worse disaster - although the damage to our ancient trees is rather heartbreaking. I think we can count ourselves fortunate that there were no fatalities. This was sooo strange. :hi:

8. So far, no fatalities have been reported, thank goodness.
I'm still trying to figure out what happened. This came as such a surprise. It was cold and rainy - it didn't have the "feel" of tornado weather at all.

12. Same thing happened to us up here in mid-MN last year. Came out of nowhere.
Uprooted four trees. One fell on our roof and we had to replace it. Not even enough time to go to the basement. The tornadoes are getting weirder and weirder.

13. Oh how frightening.
I'm glad you're ok. It's wild, because I was just 10 blocks away from this, yet, the sirens went off *after* the tornado had made it all the way to downtown. You're right, they are getting stranger.

:hi:
