The 2010 MayDay Parade and Festival will be held on Sunday, May 2.
The Heart of the Beast Puppet and Mask Theatre’s annual MayDay Parade, Ceremony, and Festival has been a vibrant example of art as community building in the Twin Cities area for 36 years.
For many in Minnesota , the MayDay Parade is a time to celebrate the coming warmth with hand-built puppets and masks (some over 10 feet tall), music, and performance in the street. But the essence of the parade is rooted in the local community and contemporary issues, concerns, and visions for a better world.
Walk with the N’avi (Avatar) puppets and WAMM in the annual MayDay Parade.
The parade will begin at 1:00 p.m. and end approximately two hours later at Powderhorn Park , where a short ceremony will follow.
Don't miss the WAMM information booth (#60) at Powderhorn Park .
Stop by and get your “End War” sticker and photo taken with the Avatar Puppets.
Bring all your kids and young people!
Face painting and N’avi ears will be available and encouraged!
