..David FitzSimmons, Emmer's campaign manager, said the candidate was attending his son's first communion. Emmer, he said, is an avid outdoorsman who believes that the private sector generally does a better job than government of protecting the environment.

As for Emmer being an "avid outdoorsman" I saw him on the local news during the Republican convention saying "I own blaze orange with blood on it."

I have no idea if Emmer is a real outdoorsman or a faux one like Pawlenty but a statement like that makes me think he's the kind of guy who would let a wounded animal take off because it was too much trouble to follow it (ala Timmy). I've heard hunters talk about the size of the deer they've killed or their antlers, but I've never heard anyone brag about having blood on their clothes. Sounds like the kind of guy who would hunt from a helicoptor.
