Our family supports the nurses efforts to protect patients and themselves.
Dad is in United tonight. He has been medically unstable since Saturday morning and it engaged dementia full time instead of just occasionally that went away with a nap.
He has had to have an Aid or family member with him basically for the last month but he is not recognizing us most of the time.
They are closing the unit he is on tonight and moving him to another room. Something that the doctors had hoped to avoid until they got him stabilized. The PCAs will remain on the job and know Dad and when he is in trouble. He is on a heart monitor and they check his vitals once every 45 minutes right now during the day and every two hours at night.
The nurses treated him with kindness and respect even on Sunday when he was so out of hit he was trying to punch and kick them and they had to give him medication since he was sure he was in a prison camp and they were tryng to kill him. He was too week and uncoordinated to even stand by himself and he was trying to get out of bed and run away.

1. Support nurses over administrators making more than a million a year? |
|
The nurses are great! The administrators who are just in the health care business for money should be ashamed of themselves.
This whole nonsense about needing administrators is nothing but a remnant of the days of monarchy. Folks have not gotten over the idea that they do not need a monarch to tell them what to do.
