Thank you for writing me to express your concern and support for our troops. I am committed to supporting our troops and appreciate hearing your thoughts on this important matter.



I have always believed that when we ask our men and women to fight and sacrifice for us in defense of our nation, we make a promise that we're going give them the support and resources they need. We owe it to the brave U.S. servicemembers serving in Iraq and Afghanistanand elsewhere around the world to provide them the tools and equipment they require to successfully carry out their mission, and I am committed to ensuring that they receive our full support. In the Senate, I have supported funding increases for better and safer equipment, including to provide our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan with mine-resistant combat vehicles and individual troop body armor, and to address shortfalls in critical National Guard equipment.

Minnesotans have always understood the debt we owe our career military personnel. I look forward to working with you to ensure that this debt is properly repaid and that our servicemembers and veterans are cared for properly.

I sent an email the other day to President Obama, Senators Franken and Klobuchar, and Rep. Kline asking them when they were going to arrest bush and cheney for war crimes. Still waiting to hear back.

3. Hardly surprising

and, as always with a response from Amy, a truly artistic job of avoiding really answering the question. You'll notice how they twisted funding for the war into strictly an issue of "supporting our troops" and keeping them safe. Though they might have slipped up a bit by mentioning the "mission" - that could lead to questions about just what the mission is and require another letter to avoid answering that question.

Did anyone have Stephanie Miller's show on today? Hal Sparks was filling in and going on & on about how wonderful Klobuchar is. I was listening from the office and couldn't even to try call in & tell him that anyone who thinks Amy-kins is that great isn't paying attention to what she's doing.

Sparks is going to be hosting again tomorrow so if any of you are able to call in - please try to do so and educate him about or senior senator.
