So I heard Klobuchar on WCCO radio today when I was driving home
(Gawd - when did I get so old I occassionally listen to 'CCO when there aren't weather alerts?)

and she was at her weasely best. First defending the insurance bill. I really wish I'd kept count of the number of times she said "Minnesota model" or "Mayo Clinic model". All she did was talk about costs, she never once mentioned people actually being able to get care. I suppose I should give her credit for not lying about that, but she did keep calling it "health care reform" - so she loses points for that. And for saying there are things that need to be "fixed in the future".

And, of course she talked about the deficit and my ears really picked up when Amy-kins said she was only one of 14 Democratic senators who supported formation of a "Deficit" Commission and that she "just really supports an up or down vote on the commission's recommendations". (Any guesses on where she'll stand.)

If you haven't been to the fair yet, make sure you stop by her booth to weigh in on the Catfood Commission as well as the calls & emails we need to hammer her with. Granted, it will probably be a waste of time, but at least she'll know we're paying attention.

We really need to find a DFLer to run against her in 2012.

1. But did you see where she's opposed to "honey laundering"
and wants to get the FDA to set national purity standards for honey so we won't be flooded with cheap, adulterated Chinese honey? She is obviously pandering for the beekeper vote. http://www.kare11.com/news/news_article.aspx?storyid=869008

Actually, I think it's a good idea, too. But Amy has a wonderful knack for feel-good stuff that hardly anybody could object to. And she equivocates and wimps out at the really important stuff if it's at all controversial. And important stuff is almost always controversial.

Amy just can't seem to handle controversy.

2. Heard her talk on MPR comparing herself to Eugene McCarthy.
Her point was that sometimes you should be brave enough to buck your Party and that things happen when you work together.
Amy needs a reality check.
People may like her but she is not strong enough to realize that there is no longer a bi-partisan "reality". She either better stand with her Party or move over for someone else we will select.
Wake up Amy.

3. Gene McCarthy bucked the party in opposition to a war
Klobuchar bucks it in order to help sell us to UnitedHealth Group & she thinks it's the same? Once again she proves that she's quite the "Profile in Courage".

I have a headache behind my eye.

4. So I'll bite, Amy: what "things happen when you work together"?!
"Brave", huh? What "brave" things are the Repubs doing that she feels she needs to buck? Seriously...what?!
