I got an email response (below the dashed line). Interesting. Very Interesting.
I'm surprised to hear that they are awakened by dead air, considering for example on 9/10 1200am-200am I "listened" to 2 hours of Leslie Marshall rebroadcast where the station's commercials played and the news, but other than that, dead. A few other times before that, though only spot checked now and then. There were also many times where the Leslie Marshall rebroadcast was really faint, so I guess it wouldn't count as dead air, and maybe wouldn't set off some alarm system. (Similar pattern -- Leslie Marshall show very faint, but the station commercials and the news came in full strength).
I wonder if the satellite company is run by a bunch of righties. Anyhow, here is her response.
=================================================== Thanks for your email, as sometimes we aren't aware of these issues, because most of us don't listen late at night. However, whenever there is dead air, we are awakened by it. That is how we found out about Midnight Trucker Radio last week, but I thought it was corrected.
We have had a lot of issues the last two weeks with the company that sends the feed over the satellite. They failed to send the correct shows for quite a few of our weekend shows this last week as well as sending us the Trucker Radio show.
Please let me know any other time you hear a problem as we are eager to fix the problems.
