DFL leaders are silent on the FBI raids of their constituants
Both Rybak and Ellison used to walk in marches and have stood on stage with those who's houses were raided. They know these people personally.
both have said when candidates that would put a stop to the abuse by FBI and attack on our 1st amendment rights.

but so far they have been silent.

Rep. Keith Ellison 612-522-1212 (D.C. 202-225-4755)
Sen. Amy Klobuchar 612-727-5220 (D.C. 202-224-3244)
Sen. Al Franken 651-221-1016 (D.C. 202-5641).

You might also contact your mayor R.T. Rybak at 673-2100 or his civil rights
coordinator Sherman Patterson at 673-2331. You can find contact information
for your city council representative at
http://www.ci.minneapolis.mn.us/council/

You might also want to leave a message for President Obama at 202-456-1111, for
U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder at 202-353-1555 or national FBI director
Robert Mueller at 202-324-3000 or local FBI agent in charge Ralph Boelter at
612-376-3200.

3. We don't know exactly what the activists are accused of doing.
Edited on Fri Oct-01-10 05:27 AM by Eric J in MN
The activists probably didn't deserve an FBI raid, but it's understandable if our Senators want more info before they publicly comment.

4. they know the activists, they know they did nothing illegal
they are using the "have to wait till see what plays out" as an excuse.

That is not acceptable. It will cost us tax payers a lot less money if our local leaders speak out.

Look at what their silence has done with those raid before the RNC.

I'm sure we are over a million dollars of tax payer money wasted on going after "those activists", the RNC 8,
detaining them, having the hearings (that cost a lot of money), and now only 3 are going to trial and that will cost the tax payers more money. It is a joke.

These DFL leaders have continued to be silent. They have let the out of control FBI abuse people's civil rights.

It happens all the time, but in the case of the peace activists the DFL politicians could speak out right away.

5. from David at David Shove's progressive calendar
We now have statements against the FBI raids from many levels of the
Green Party, the parties of Pentel and Cavlan, and the CPUSA.

But not one word from the Dems at any level - nothing from Obama, or Franken, or
Ellison, or Rybak, or the 12 DFL Mpls City Council members. Now why is
that?

Dem apologists will make excuses - too soon, they're waiting for
more info, etc - in the hope that after a few days or weeks we will forget
all about it, and the Dems can continue to implicitly or explicitly
support and collaborate with corporate-sponsored suppression of freedom of
speech and action.

And of course the apologists have to get us to forget
their criminal silence by the time of the big November vote - we'e
supposed line up again like stupid domestic turkeys and vote for our
oppressors.

Support of Dem silence is support for repression. Demand
that Dem reps speak out or get out

7. And a picture of Martin Luther King
Though I suppose the FBI might still consider him a "known subversive".
