I saw something tonight that I don't think I've ever seen before -

a TV ad for a candidate for the state House of Representatives. It was on WCCO shortly after 7pm - so I don't imagine it was cheap even if it is Saturday prime time (it ran during NCIS) and about the time people would be switching to the Twins game.

The ad was for Pat Mazorol the Republican candidate in district 41B which is west Bloomington (and maybe part of Edina).

I'd love to know where the guy is getting his money that he can afford to run an ad when his target audience is so small.

i just took a look at his financial report through the 19th of July. He had put in $5000 of his own money at that time and raised $10,000 plus from donors. There was only one donor of $500. listed plus several at $250 or $125. $1500 from the party.
Still $17,000 for a state house campaign for the first reporting cycle seems like a lot.
