Friends and Courtwatchers,
We have Courtroom 131B for tomorrow -- the large courtroom on the ground floor.
This is a plea hearing for a change of plea from the remaining defendants of the RNC8. The judge may or may not accept the plea, but when the prosecution and the defense agree, the judge usually goes along.
If the plea is accepted, sentencing will take place immediately. It is up to the judge what the sentence will be, but the prosecution has agreed to ask for no jail time.
So: Tuesday, October 19th at 9:00 AM. Courtroom 131B Ramsey County Courthouse 15 W. Kellogg Boulevard St. Paul
Members of the RNC 8 and of the Defense Committee will speak immediately afterwards on the plaza out front by the flagpole. I'm told that they will also answer questions.
These four defendants are the last of all the RNC arrestees still facing criminal charges. Please join us for what we hope will be the very last time an RNC protester is haled into court as a defendant. From now on, the defendants will be police officers and the City of St. Paul.
