Pioneer Press can't even send a reporter up the street to cover the capitol rally |
|
The hometown capital city newspaper couldn't be bothered to send a reporter or photographer up Cedar Avenue to the rally that attracted over 1,000 people. They covered it with inaccurate reporting from the New York Times, L.A. Times and AP. Same way they've been covering the huge protests in Madison.
Voice your displeasure with this crap to scampbell@pioneerpress.com and mburbach@pioneerpress.com. That's the brain trust running this paper these days.

2. Both of the major MN papers are now worth less than the paper they're printed on. |
|
It's depressing. Both used to be such good papers.

3. And yet they are still considered too "liberal" by right wing nuts |
|
I still hear the term "Red Star" for the Startribune way too often.

|
I remember the first time I heard one of them say "Red Star," I'm thinking, WTF? Seriously, guys?

5. It just illustrates how very little attention the wingnuts pay to issues |
|
Though, if most the ones who still call it that are O'Reilly and/or Beck fans maybe the Strib does still look liberal to them.

8. Who needs a newspaper when you have radio and TV guys telling you what to think, and best of all |
|
you don't even have to know how to read!
People, we are seeing living examples of the application of Goebbels' Big Lie principle.

What type of newspaper would the wingnuts consider good? Something from Hearst?

I would get frustrated with the PP for both lack of investigation and slated reporting...Still I kept my subscription as I used the paper to help start a fire the fireplace on cold days....Then one day, the paper came in a plastic bag that was thrown on my driveway in such a way as to collect all the rain water into the bag...the newspaper expanded and I couldn't remove it from the plastic without cutting it out, and then spending the day drying it out just to see that it had nothing of interest and was still damp. Then I realized it was an omen...THE Pioneer Press newspaper WASN'T EVEN GOOD ENOUGH TO USE TO START A FIRE. I canceled my paper subscription.
