They are illuminating home health care for "behavioral disability" including all inborn brain abnormalities, brain injury, brain illness, dementia, Alzheimer's, schizophrenia etc, etc. This was mandated 3 1/2 years ago and there is supposed to be an alternative system to take care of these folks but nobody made one. So that means thousands will be needing institutionalized placement. No wonder GE bought up nursing homes 2006-2009 across the country. Our legislature is giving them a windfall. It costs thousands a month less for in home care than nursing home care so there is no financial benefit to eliminating it.
My boss also told me that cuts to physically handicapped people's hours will cause at least 864 to immediately need nursing home beds in Minnesota. In any given day there are maybe 20-30 openings statewide. Where are they to go.
Today I was informed that because I am related to the person I do PCA work, my Aunt, the Minnesota Legislature feels it prudent to give me a 20% pay cut on top of the at least 2% pay cut in home health services. Last June they cut PCA hours for my Aunt from 5.5 to four hours and decreased pay 2%. This is my $10 no benefits job that is more hands on than 5.5 hours a day and I need to be here most of the time. What do I use my money for, my health care of course.
So by June 30th you will see old and sick people wandering around because nobody is taking care of them, I am not kidding!
I hate the GOP, I hate the DINOS and I hate the people who voted for these monsters.
