Divisive pastor starts House session, controversy erupts
http://www.startribune.com/politics/statelocal/122326544.html

Bradlee Mother-Humpn' Dean? I can't believe it!!! The Speaker denounced it so who was responsible for this asswipe being there?
Brother Bradlee's words of wisdom:

I know this is a non-denominational prayer in this Chamber and it’s not about the Baptists and it’s not about the Catholics alone or the Lutherans or the Wesleyans. Or the Presbyterians the evangelicals or any other denomination but rather the head of the denomination and his name is Jesus. As every President up until 2008 has acknowledged. And we pray it. In Jesus’ name.

hallelujiah!

4. The Speaker may have "denounced" it, but this needs to be stapled to his platform
This is his party. These are his people. These are their beliefs.

Dean's stance is right down the road from the MN GOP's stance on marriage equality.

And Bradlee Dean needs to fuck off.

9. Maybe, just maybe, the Republicans have just been sheep after all
and this could be the start of a Republican "Spring Awakening"?

http://www.startribune.com/politics/statelocal/122326544.html
Rep. Ernie Leidiger, R-Mayer, arranged the guest pastor's visit, but said he was unaware of Dean's view of homosexuality, calling it "radical thinking – that kind of thinking, I think back to Nazi Germany… I don’t agree with that.”

Saying he should have done a better job of "screening" Dean, he explained his rationale for inviting the pastor:

I met him about six months ago and what I saw was a good presentation about bringing the Constitution back into the schools. A few months after that one of his people called and said we’d like to have Bradley come on and do the prayer in the morning … And I said I’m not really sure how we get that scheduled up here, so call the clerk’s office. My input was, I’d seen his presentation, he does a good job of talking to students, talking about the Constitution, talking about we need to understand how our country was formed, how important it was to know about the Founding Fathers …Little did I know there’s another side of him, which, by the way, I just learned today… I didn’t realize he was that controversial a figure. I’ve never listened to him on the radio

10. Too late now. The place is all dirtied up with his bad aura. I am deeply
sickened by this and want to know who got him there. Conservatives ALWAYS do the DEED and THEN say "I am sorry" after they get their way.

11. The best on line comment I've seen was in the St. Cloud Times
it reads,

You say Dean does not represent your values. Perhaps not but, as a co-sponsor of the marriage amendment, you seem to be doing a good job of representing his. Think about it.

14. He needs money for a publicist:
http://tpmmuckraker.talkingpointsmemo.com/2011/05/anti-gay_preacher_please_give_me_money_to_hire_a_p.php?ref=fpb

Apparently God won't give him one, he is too busy rounding up a campaign staff for Michele Bachmann.
Dean looks like Jim Belushi in a pony tail. Or a younger Meat Loaf.

15. Typical rambling "I'm telling God how to run things" fundamentalist prayer, ugh
Who are these people and when did they invade this state?

There have always been fundies in Minnesota (cf. Soul's Harbor), but they were apolitical and annoyed only people who couldn't change the channel fast enough when they appeared on TV.

16. Bradlee Dean lied to Walmart about his church, is now banned from parking lot
Dean's You Can Run But You Can't Hide youth ministry was sighted yesterday hosting a fund-raising booth outside the Hutchinson Walmart.

We checked in with Walmart headquarters to ask if they knew they were playing host to a guy who says gay folks should be thrown in jail and has praised religious extremists who execute suspected homosexuals.

Walmart spokeswoman Ashley Hardie said Walmart didn't know -- because the ministry lied to them.

"They registered their request to solicit outside the store using a false name," Hardie said. "As soon as we learned the group's true identity, they were asked to leave."
