Small victories in New Brighton
A Conservative blog endorsed only one candidate for City Council, an incumbent, and the current Mayor. The Councilman lost.

The blog cited as one of its seasonings for Mayor and answer to the question about dropping our own Police and contracting with the Ramsey County Sheriff. The Mayor had written that he would do it if the voters really wanted it so I wrote an email to him telling him that I felt New Brighton was a safe, secure and compassionate place to live and that this change would make it very much less so but that I was voting for him anyway based on his record over the last term. He wrote back before 10pm and said he totally agreed with me and that the questionnaire he had filled out had very limited room for reply and they just took that sentence out of context so he was glad I had not thought that he was for the idea.

The fact that he cared what I thought and wrote back on election day meant a lot.

I have lived in several Twin Cities communities and through an NB Outreach program a few apartment parking lot prowlers and a few medical emergencies I found them to be not only dedicated and capable but compassionate and willing to discuss the policing during the RNC and some other controversial programs I had read about that were available to local Police with much needed money attached.

Hope things are well with you all. After years, Starting in September I finally am getting the care and medicines I need here in Minnesota and it has made a tremendous difference. I hope to be able to more amicably participate now that I don't wish I was dead most of the time. (I also had bad thoughts about those who were in agony and remained cheerful at all times. So to them, and anyone my pain was projected on, I am sorry.)
