Could the DFL ask Mayor Randall Kelly not to run for re-election

2. He should either become an independent or we should primary him out

3. They can endorse someone else at the convention

though that wouldn't prevent Kelly from running in the primary. And, unless the Republicans also have a primary, our lack of party registration won't stop Repukes from voting for him in that election and making him the DFL candidate.

because they're not many Republicans over here.

They'd do best to endorse him outright as they did with Coleman after he changed parties. Kelly has said he still considers himself a DFLer. He could change his mind of course. He could also try running without party endorsement. That might be his best shot.
