Featured on a 5 minute(approx) Rob Courdry (sp?)spot on The Daily Show.

Interviews Dave Thune (City Council) about the peanuts (penis?) statues.

Finishes the segment with an editorial statement:
"I don't know why anyone live here, because IT IS bleeep bleeep bleeep COLD HERE!"

It really was funny in Courdry's perverted sort of way.
I laughed, and recommend you watch the replay.

My wife wondered about that, too. She saw some flags in the background that were from an ice palace from last year. I have a feeling this is an old story-- but still pretty funny nonetheless.

4. You would have to be familiar with Courdry...

...but he was interviewing Dave Thune, and another woman who thought the Peanuts statues were a waste of money and diminished the memorials to REAL people like F Scott Fitzgerald. She has started a campaign to have the Peanuts statues removed.

Courdry, in his sort of perverted way, hijacked the interviews by (purposely)confusing the spoken word "Peanuts" with "penis". The comedy element is in focusing on the interviewee handling the situation.
You would need to watch the replay AND be familiar with Courdry's routine to appreciate the humor.

Minnesota, get ready to be skewered tonight when "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" takes on the controversy over the two bronze "Peanuts" statues in St. Paul's Rice Park.

The fake news show, which airs at 10 p.m. on cable TV's Comedy Central, was in town recently interviewing St. Paul City Council members and others on both sides of the dispute. A citizen's beautification group says the statues of Peppermint Patty and Marcie clash with historic buildings nearby, as well as with a statue of F. Scott Fitzgerald. Others argue that the installations are an appropriate way to honor "Peanuts" cartoonist Charles Schulz, a St. Paul native.

It really doesn't matter what the argument involves because the topic is certain to be turned on its ear by "Daily Show" correspondent Rob Corddry.
