Here's a letter I got from Coleman
"Thank you for contacting me concerning the Clear Skies Act of 2003 (S. 485)....At your request, please know that I will take a close look at S. 485 when it is reported out of committee for consideration by the full Senate, and that I value your input.

Please know that I share your commitment to protecting our environment. As a member of the Senate Agriculture Committee I led a bipartisan coalition of Senators in opposing any cuts to conservation programs that protect air and water quality, curb soil erosion, and enhance wildlife and wildlife habitats, including wetlands, in the budget resolution for fiscal year 2004. Also, as the founder and co-chair of the Biofuels Caucus, I worked hard to include the Renewable Fuels Standard (RFS), which will double the use of renewable fuels over the next decade, as part of the Energy Bill."

I think that we need to contact him more. He needs to be shown over and over again what we want from him as Senator, even tho he is in the wrong party. I just spent a day at the capitol advocating for the arts, talking to sen's and rep's and to a (wo)man they all said that getting a letter from a constituent carried so much influence. So, even if you don't like him, you still gotta tell him what YOU want.

1. Problem is...
he'll tell you all those things, and maybe even act on them, but as soon as his masters tell him how to vote, he'll flip-flop.

ANWR is the prime example.

I do agree with you, it's important to write to him, but ultimately he is a panderer and will stand wherever he thinks he needs to, to advance his career.

2. wow, he writes back to you!
never responded to my couple of letters. I've taken the time to call his office on several occassions, but have always considered it nothing more than registering my complaint. That whimp will never stop being a lapdog for the * administration.

4. He always answers my emails.
And sometimes he says, while we may not agree on how to deal with this situation I always appreciate your input. No, I'm not stumping for him, I'm just telling ya, he answers emails.
