Al Franken wrote a LTTE of the St Paul Pioneer Press (and read it on
his show today - it rocked). I can't find it online - does anyone know if it's been published yet? Hopefully, Franken's site might do so.

1. try www.twincities.com
it's a crappy site, but that's where the online version would be. The Pioneer Press used to be a good paper, but now it's mostly good for lining bird cages and wrapping fish.

5. Pie-in-Ear Press letters editor is a Republican
Mark Yost is the jerk at the paper responsible for letters to the editor. He's also the one who refused to run one single letter criticizing the Pie-in-Ear Press for suspending two reporters for attending the big Act for Change concert last fall on their own time. City Pages actually had to run the letters instead. So I wouldn't anticipate Franken's letter appearing anytime soon.

This former Pulitzer Prize-winning paper is but a shadow of its former self. Pathetic.

Franken's campaign target: Norm Coleman's teeth

Comedian visits the DFL caucus for tips on a possible Senate bid

BY BILL SALISBURY

Pioneer Press

If comedian and liberal talk-show host Al Franken decides to run against U.S. Sen. Norm Coleman in 2008, his campaign might feature the Minnesota Republican's teeth.

At least, that's what Franken told the Minnesota House Democratic-Farmer-Labor caucus during an appearance at the state Capitol on Thursday.

He said he envisions television ads featuring before and after photos of Coleman's teeth that St. Paul dentist Frank J. Milnar had posted on a promotional Web site to show how he fixed a gap in the senator's front teeth in 1999. The photos were widely circulated on political Web sites.

"I'm thinking of doing ads where I have Norm Coleman's old teeth say, 'We shouldn't drill in ANWR,'" Franken said, referring to the Alaska National Wildlife Refuge. "But his new teeth (say), 'Oh, we should drill there because President Bush wants to.'"

He said the commercials also would show Coleman's old and new teeth making contradictory statements on Canadian drug imports and other issues where the senator has changed positions.

Here's how he'd end the ads: "Al Franken's old teeth say, you know, 'We should be able to re-import drugs from Canada.' And his new teeth say, 'Brush your teeth and floss. Then you don't need to get new teeth.'"

those could be great ads.

4. Al sounded very serious about this today - he mentioned a
professional team (Pepper- - -something) is following him around documenting his activities - to eventually make promotional ads or a short documentary about him for the campaign. Oh - also he and his wife looked at housing and they might buy a condo here soon.

He described the 'teeth' ad and it could be a real blow to the flip flopping Coleman, highlighting his very negative qualities, but done with humor.

I think anything Al does will be done using the full force of his expertise and that of all his connections, which must be legion, after all the years he's been working.

6. It seems that he sent the letter but they didn't print it.
When I search twincities.com, it still doesn't come up.
