I'm posting from Tuscaloosa, Alabama, which I guess is about 50 miles or so from the Mississippi border.
I was just wondering if the Dems stand to gain anything over there on Tuesday.
Over here in Alabama, the gubernatorial race seems lost, but it's not all bad. I think we stand a good chance to pick up some seats on the state Supreme Court, which is currently composed entirely of Repugs. I also think we stand a good chance of taking the Lieutenant Governor's race, and Attorney General. We would have a good chance to capture one GOP House seat if the candidate, Greg Pierce, had any money. But he is out funded by something like 100 to 1. Five, of the other six, of our House seats are gerrymandered beyond belief. I wish Dr. Dean would've given Pierce a few bucks.
We don't have any Senate races this year.
So I don't guess Alabama will have any relevance in regard to capturing Congress, but we have some realistic chances in statewide races.
I'm ashamed that I know so little about Mississippi politics. My dad was from Mississippi!
So, what's it look like over there, neighbor?
