Did anyone else read Dilguid's Column yesterday?
It was about why the Aryan Nation would think they would be welcome in Kansas? Because of all the negative stuff coming out of Kansas? Phil Kline and his history of ultra-conservatism. And the Blue Springs Book Banning fiasco. And good ole Fred Phelps - who wasn't in our paper but who sure made the NYT.

Do we have a reputation as a climate of hate?

1. We are getting one.
I was partially attacked in the Lounge (of all places!) yesterday for redneck views. Didn't you hear? Redneck=Missouri/Kansas=hate.

(footnote: op did send pm and apologized for actions. It is still rather interesting that it occurred, though).

2. That's terrible.
I will try to spend more time there and defend the sane elements in the midwest.

But the Lounge is kinda crazy sometimes.

3. It is really crazy lately.
BouncyBall and I pm'd each other about it. We both were ready to pounce when he privately retracted. I had wished for a public detraction w/ it but have to be happy w/ what I received.

PM me again sometime before you look around the Lounge. There are some strange things going on lately and I would like to let you know privately about them before you go in so that you can keep your eyes open to it. We live close enough to each other-lately, that means that we might have to defend one another!
