I'm working with the Kansas City Iraq Task Force to help put together the reception and rally for the arrival of the bus.

It's still a little fluid as to what time the bus will arrive and how long it will stay. The Task Force has been in communication with Crawford and hoping to get an evening reception, but the bus is scheduled to overnight in Des Moines so it might be late afternoon.

We also haven't received confirmation if Cindy will be on this bus (there are three leaving from Crawford).

If anyone has time this week to help out, please PM me. I think we can use any hands we can get - this isn't much time to put together a big rally.

but I am a teacher and tomorrow is the first day of school. So I am limited to the evening hours. PM me and let me know what I can do.

I don't think Cindy will be coming here. She said something about going to see DeLay and the bus coming here is not going by DeLay's office.

Man, I hope it doesn't make a mid day stop here; that will really limit the number of folks who can come.

But I do think it will be a great event here, even if Cindy is not on this bus. I was in Crawford last week and those folks are inspired.

So far, I'm guessing it's going to be a noontime rally, unfortunately.

The bus is leaving Crawford on Wednesday, and they're overnighting in Wichita Wednesday night. That means they'll be here fairly quickly on Thursday, although there's still no set word on when they'll arrive or how long they'll stay. I'll keep you posted.

It looks like it'll be parked at All Soul's Church, and any rally or press gathering will be held there.

We'll definitely be feeding the bus - literally - so they're planning on a large potluck when the bus arrives. Anyone who can bring food, please PM me - I think it's best to make sure food comes from people we know, lest roaming freepers try to make trouble by brining tainted goods. I'll probably stop at Gates and pick up some slabs of ribs - easy, plus a very KC-style lunch.

We have a lot of banners with names of the dead we'll be putting up, so if anyone has free time during the day Thursday and is handy with a glue gun please let me know.

The bus will be here from 3-6 pm. Looks like it'll start at All Soul's, then move to the Plaza from 5-6 for a rally.
