Jackson Co people: how are you voting on the stadiums?
I'm undecided, the Super Bowl hasn't helped Detroit with it's problems and football is meant to be played outdoors.

2. I live in Kansas
but I would vote no. It's a moral issue to me. The taxpayers in KC have not approved a school levy since 1969. I think it is immoral to use tax money to support pro sports teams and not support education.

One important point to remember is that The Chiefs meet their payroll every year with only their TV revenues. Every thing else is just gravy - ticket sales, parking, concessions, etc. So they can well afford to put that roof up themselves without hitting up the taxpayers. If I lived in Jackson County, I would be offended by this blackmail from The Chiefs.

3. I go along with Lib. We have educational issues, infrastructure
issues, issues & more issues which are far more important than the stadium issue.

We gave up our Chiefs season tickets after several years and I have had a lot of fun going out there. But the time & justification are not there now.

Besides, just don't see it as the priority here & who really benefits.

How do you ask so many of the taxpayers that will not go for whatever reason to ante up for this?

I vote no with the others.

11. Walter French
Walter French has been at GKCDFA meetings a number of times. I would thus assume that he is reasonably progressive. I don't live in Independence and don't know anything about the other candidates.

I found an article you might want to look at.

15. SaveOurOwners.com
If you haven't seen it yet, take a look at SaveOurOwners.com.

I'm voting NO, because I am opposed to corporate welfare.

I will be voting absentee, because I'll be gone on April 4. I have my ballot and just need to fill it out.

23. My sister is trying to decide...
She and her husband are inclined to vote yes, and I'm trying to talk them out of it (I'm in Kansas, and at least they aren't trying to hit *us* up again).

If this bond was only for infrastructure - plumbing, etc. - one might approve it (and it would end up costing far, far less). But when you see how the Royals plan to spend this windfall it's obscene. They're putting in a food court, more gift shops selling tacky, overpriced crap, a kiddie area and more seats in a stadium that never sells out unless the Yankees are in town.

Every "improvement" the Royals are adding is meant to squeeze every last nickle of revenue out of every corner of that stadium, and it's money that we know for a certainty won't be put back into the team. Instead, the taxpayers will make a multi-millionaire even richer - what an insult!
