Voter I.D. measure moves in the Senate
JEFFERSON CITY - Overcoming a Democratic filibuster, the Missouri Senate last night gave first-round approval to a measure requiring voters to present a photo ID when they go to the polls.

The vote came after days of behind-the-scenes negotiations that resulted in a scaled-back bill, but it still didn’t placate some Democrats.

Passed on a 23-10 vote, only one Democrat favored the bill, which needs another vote in the Senate before moving to the House.

4. It's a poll tax
They will pull the funding for the state IDs within a year or so after this passes. Just watch them.

This is also tied up in the state motor vehicle offices, since that is where you go to get state IDs. And they are run by friends of the governor. That system is being investigated right now because it is so corrupt.

Tell your reps we don't need a poll tax and the motor vehicle offices can't handle the responsibilities they have NOW.

3. This needs to be fought hard!!
Call and write people. It's an election year. They will yield to pressure.

I talked to the rep from the neighborhood where my school is just this week. She kept saying 'this is an election year', meaning the critters are really listening to their constituents.

SO CALL AND TELL YOUR REPS THIS IS A POLL TAX.
