McDonald County Dem Club Meeting

We have a democrat club meeting for McDonald County tonight. It will be at 6:30pm, on 5/18/06 at the Fellowship Hall of the Pineville United Methodist Church. The Drug Free Kids group will serve our meal and tell us about their group goals, and objectives.

All county canidates will be given time to speak and plans will be made for the upcoming county fair. Anyone in the area, Newton, or Jasper, you are invited. I don't know how many SW dems we have on this board, but you are invited. Thanks, Donald and Tammy.

2. Meeting tonight, was very good...

We got to meet Ben Carnahan, and John Felders. Felders, is running in my district(130th) against a tough Kevin Wilson. Carnahan, seems like an old hand at this, he is a career airforce man, retired of course. He is representing the 131st district, and he seems, able. Felders on the other hand, i give him kudo's for spirit, and fire, but tonight was his first time speaking in front of a group, and he...well, in all honesty, he needs to refine his game.

I didn't even know Wilson had an opponent, in our local paper, it said he was running unopposed, and i'm glad Felders decided to join in the fray, cause Wilson is Roy Blunts butt buddy. My wife and I are going to try, and help him out, if he wants it. His platform seems really built on Education. Felders is a middle school teacher in Pineville, and his little flyer focused a lot on education. I know education is importnat, but to win this county, I believe he needs to focus on economy/agriculture in order to win, but thats just me. My wife and I are going to ask him out to dinner, to discuss. Another one of our reps, Gayle Brock, should help Felders out. Brock is one of only three dems, in our county, that hold official positions, and two of those spots are retiring this fall...so Brock knows how to tangle with the RW machine...I should invite Brock out to dinner as well, but I don't want to seem, to be stepping on toes. But, i don't want Felders to be the lamb to the slaughter either...

But, our meeting tonight was great...a great bitch, and complain meeting, it almost felt like a live action DU meeting...:) Its great seeing old granpa and grandma saying "bush fucking SUCKS!!!" in a church, nonetheless...:) The discourse tonight, was good, we had at least three dems there, that seemed to know their shit, and a good handful, who just like the rabble rousing....

what i could use some help on, is finding...well, finding ways to hit Kevin Wilson in the good old politicial nut sack. I am not saavy at all on local politics, and researching is a chore, not that I mind it, but its hard finding something substantive...I do have some tidbits from our local *rag* i mean, newspaper...but I need to find ways, in which to prove, that Wilson supports big business, aka Tyson/Simmons...Both chicken plants are desroying our enivronment, and is a HOT issue in this county...also Moark falls in that category, but its hard finding hard data, that we could use against Wilson.

Felders i belive, is going to be slaughtered, but i want him to put up a fight...but, if you can help...shit, if any dems can help, i would appreciate it. Also, Agriculture/farming...I don't know squat about it, i'm from a fishing town in SE Alaska, but AG is a big issue here, and i would appreciate a little refresher course on the issue that deal with it...thanks, Don.
