I'm going to pay the extortion
I have to go buy a birth certificate, even though I have one not five feet away from where I sit. It doesn't have a state sanctioned seal though, and if I want to vote this year, I've got to renew my drivers license, so it's going to cost me 35.00 to vote this year.
Let's send this goddamn bunch of extortionists and lowdown bastards packing in November, from local, state, and federal office.

5. I just don't want to be caught unawares
I want to be able to cast a ballot and not be handed a provisional ballot.

MISSOURI photo ID proposal
Many could lose right to vote

<skip>

If Blunt signs the bill, Revenue Department officials will need to work hard to insure that the change does not prevent Missourians who are eligible to vote from doing so. It will be critical to quickly mobilize efforts to help registered voters obtain the required photo identification.

Officials estimate it will cost $2.5 million to get vehicles, camera equipment, and staff around the state to provide the photo identification cards to voters who need them. Yet lawmakers didn’t appropriate any money for this.

<skip>

Carnahan estimates that at least 170,000 Missouri voters do not have photo IDs, many of them in cities.

Missouri already has some of the strictest requirements of the states for voting. The legislation before the governor ostensibly fights voter fraud. But in the process it threatens the abilities of eligible voters to cast ballots.

3. If it's an unfunded mandate...
won't it end up being struck down?

of course, that might not happen in time for the November elections.

4. It ought to be struck down as unconstitutional
Which it is. This is a polltax in a very bad disguise.
