A host of national Democratic hot shots are headed to Missouri (and Kansas, if you can believe it) in the weeks ahead, Demo insiders say.

First up, Maryland Congressman Steny Hoyer, the House minority whip, comes to town next Tuesday and Wednesday for Kansas Congressman Dennis Moore.

Then it's Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid. He's to be in downtown Kansas City Aug. 24 for Claire McCaskill.

That same day, outspoken Massachusetts Congressman Barney Frank hits town for Congressman Emanuel Cleaver.

But the biggest news is this: The kingfish, Bill Clinton, is due in St. Louis in early September, presumably for McCaskill and Missouri Democrats.
