KC Forums Public Dialogs

The Plaza Branch and KC Forums, a project of Consensus, will host public forums on three important issues. Participants will work in small groups, led by trained moderators, to consider different ways of approaching each issue. The discussions are low-pressure and respectful, and people of all political perspectives are welcome.

Democracy’s Challenge: Reclaiming the Public’s Role
October 9 at 6 p.m. - 8:15 p.m.

Fed up with politics and a widening partisan divide, many Americans are turning away from public life. We are, most of us, spectators, rather than participants in a political process that seems to have little to do with citizens. What has gone wrong, and what should we do about it?
