Bush tied up rush-hour traffic in KC this morning so he could take his motorcade across town for a biscuit. But hey, it's been six years--why start considering the needs of commoners
now?

Because he needn’t worry about being re-elected, he can thumb his nose at Congress, press on with an unpopular wars…tick off tens of thousands of rush-hour commuters because he has a hankering to have breakfast across town.
What a nightmare that was. And I’m not just talking about the last seven years in the White House.
The interstates were backed up. The parkways were backed up. Plus considering all those folks stuck in traffic, there probably were some personal backups that many can only imagine and others will not soon forget.
Not that I’m taking it personal. Why shouldn’t my bus ride into town take 45 minutes longer than usual so that the president’s motorcade can travel from a hotel on the Plaza all the way to Riverside--during the morning rush--so he can break bread with the likes of George Brett, Carl Peterson and other prominent Republicans?
