Obama coming to MO this week!

I read in the Springfield paper that Obama is visiting Rolla and Springfield on Wednesday. McCain was here earlier and only drew a crowd of 350 in this very red area. The paper said reported "Local Democratic officials expect Obama's campaign to chose a larger venue than McCain's, as he has a tendency to draw large crowds."

1. Well, we got 10,000 for Edwards in 04 so I figure we should get about 15,000 this time

I know it is a town hall event but we need to form siege lines to buttress the perimeter.

2. Most of the college crowd will not be in town now, so I wouldn't look for that many.

I canvassed today here in Springfield, and registered a few new voters. It was REALLY a hot day to be going door to door. The Obama HQ was just opened yesterday, and we had a good crowd then, but not so many showed today for the walks---it was just too hot, I think.
No one at HQ let us in on the news that Obama was coming--I am a bit miffed. :sarcasm:
I will be trying to go, even tho I did meet Barack back in October 2004, in Southern IL, when he was running for Senate. I was fortunate in that it was possible then to have a brief conversation with him--not much chance now for anyone but heads of state and his campaign crew.

I think its 220 S Campbell, but I'm not sure.
