Here is another article about the appearance and an interesting discussion follows:
The Republican presidential ticket will appear at a rally in Lee's Summit at 10:30 a.m. Monday, the campaign just announced.
Yes, that means Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin will be here along with Arizona Sen. John McCain.
They'll appear at The Pavilion at John Knox Village, 520 NW Murray Road.
The event is first-come, first-gets-in. No tickets. Doors open at 8:30 a.m.
McCain, by the way, will be flying into Kansas City on Sunday evening, but no public events are scheduled.
One good guess why he's headed to Lee's Summit: That suburb, and those like it around Missouri, will be key to who carries the state in November.
McCain also made news today because he said in an interview to be broadcast on CBS' "Face the Nation" Sunday that he wants Democrats in his cabinet.
He told Bob Schieffer:
“Sure….I don't know how many, but I can tell you, with all due respect to previous administrations. It is not going to be a single, ‘well we have a Democrat now.’ It's going to be the best people in America, the smartest people in America. So many of these problems we face--for example, energy independence, what’s Partisan about that? In other words, we've got to have people who are the best and the brightest, and I'll tell you, some of them I'll ask to work for a dollar a year.”
Oh, Democratic veep Joe Biden is to be in St. Louis on Tuesday, but the campaign hasn't announced a time.
