(HELENA, MT, July 15, 2004) -- More than 100 Montana Veterans today signed on to be part of a volunteer-veterans army and joined John Kerry's fight to keep America's promises to our veterans.
“These Montana veterans support a fellow veteran, John Kerry, and we vow that we will leave no vet behind,” said Montana Veterans for John Kerry Co-chairman Ray Peck, a World War II Army Air Corps veteran and former state legislator. “We believe this administration has not served our veterans well, and we know that John Kerry will honor our commitments to our armed forces and the veterans who have bravely served our country.”
Army Reservist and Iraq War veteran Kevin Furey, a Montana Veterans for Kerry co-chairman and legislative candidate from Missoula, noted that Montana has one of the highest percentages of veterans in the country, and America and Montana must keep faith with them.
“As a decorated skipper in the Vietnam War who refused to leave any of his men behind, John Kerry understands that we as a country need to do more to repay our veterans for their service to country,” Furey said. “And we Montana Veterans for Kerry know how important it is to elect a president who has actively served and knows the true value of standing up for his fellow service men and women who have defended our freedom.”
